On January 9, 2024, “Yonggangyin 01”, China's first 40m-class aluminum alloy high-performance pilot ship, successfully completed its sea trial. "Yonggangyin 01" has a total length of 38.88 meters, a width of 8.3 meters, a depth of 3.8 meters and a draft of 1.43 meters. It is propelled by MJP duplex stainless steel mixed-flow pump 650 DRB double drive. Focusing on seakeeping, rapidity and stability to carry out technological innovation and ship type upgrade, the ship has become a new generation of aluminum alloy pilot ship benchmark in China.

All the technical indicators of the ship sailing test meet or even exceed the contract  requirements, especially the seasickness rate, maneuverability, ship noise and other aspects are better than the contract requirements. The trial speed is 28.05 knots, exceeding the contract speed 3.05 knots. The MJP 650 DRB waterjet system adopted by the ship has been optimized to generate more thrust from the main engine power under the premise of ensuring the ship's seakeeping and stability, so as to improve the ship's sailing speed and acceleration, and reduce fuel consumption. The speed of the ship is far higher than that of the same type of pilot ships in China, and it has been highly praised and recognized by the shipowner and CCS.

The ship uses MJP DRB series mixed-flow high efficiency waterjet, with excellent internal performance. Extremely robust, made of duplex stainless steel for use in shallow and dirty water, excellent corrosion resistance and durability, designed for efficient Marine navigation applications to maximise efficiency. At the same time, the superior high speed performance of the pump allows the inlet water to be optimized at lower speeds, thus achieving the best performance over the entire speed range without compromising the highest speed performance. The steering and reversing mechanism of the waterjet provides very good maneuvering at both high and low boat speeds.
